Underwater Rock Mound Contract Award

TAMS is pleased to announce the award of the Fremantle Rail Bridge Protection – Underwater Rock Mound project by the Fremantle Port Authority. The contract includes the supply and marine installation of rock as well as site preparation and remediation, hydrographic surveying, and river vessel traffic management during the works. 14,500 tonnes of locally sourced limestone core and armour rock will be placed adjacent to the rail bridge piers on the North side of the river to form an underwater rock mound, designed to prevent vessels colliding with the bridge. TAMS will utilize a range of vessels from its own fleet to complete the works including the back-hoe dredge “Total Support”, split hopper barge “North”, “Total Assist” tug as well as several flat top barges and other support vessels. The utility vessel “AMS9” will be utilized as a spotter / traffic control vessel during the marine operations. Preparatory works have already commenced with marine operations scheduled to start in July 2017 with a 4 week duration. TAMS (formally Total AMS) is a Western Australian owned leading provider of fully integrated marine services to the Australian oil & gas, construction, resources, towage and port service industries.
