The TAMS Team Saves a Whale!

The TAMS Harbour Services tug crew recently made the news when they rescued a stranded whale in Cockburn Sound.

The tugs were returning from providing barge movement support at AMC Henderson when they intercepted radio messages confirming a whale was entangled in ropes nearby. The tugs immediately diverted to the location of the stranded whale and our personnel safely cut away the ropes, freeing the whale which was then able to resume its northward journey.

In addition to TV and front page news coverage TAMS has received many messages of congratulations and gratitude for the excellent work performed by our tug personnel in saving the whale.

All part of the service and a nice fit with our policies of environmental responsibility.
